It's my first Collaber installation and I'm not sure if my problem is os-dependent. So I post it here. Installation was flawless and after sign-up and watching the demo I was able to create workspaces. But, neither if I double-click them nor if I try it from their context-menu, they won't open up. Without any message. I already filed a bug-report including log-files from the launchpads help-menu but since it is a free-account, I'm not sure if it will be answered.

My system is gentoo linux_2.6.28 x86_64 with two cores and enough ram. If you need mor information, please ask.

Appreciate any answer

We have received your bug

We have received your bug report and reply has been sent immediately.
The problem appear to be with built-in XULRunner is not working. So you need to install XULRunner package your self.

We have no experience with Gentoo Linux. But according to what they say in website a simple command like
"emerge xulrunner" will do the work for you.

Thank you for the quick

Thank you for the quick reply. I got it in my mailbox a few hours ago.

So, I think, we can move this thread to the os-specific section. No, unlikely it is not finished.

As I know how to gentoo and like the idea to run Collaber (there are dislikes, let us talk about later) I would like to help you out with some experience to grow your potential user-base ;-)

After short investigation I found two xulrunners in my system. xulrunner-bin Version 1.8.1.19 and xulrunner-1.9 Version 1.9.0.6

Then I did some tests. After scratching my installation and/or my workspace several times, experiencing same results, I was sure Collaber is still using it's builtin, broken xulrunner :-/

So, please tell me which version it expects and how to tell it to use it. And, is it ok to install Collaber in /opt/somewhere/ to make the binary available for all users (as I do with eclipse) or does it need to be installed in $HOME/elsewhere/ for every user?

Anyway, this was the procedure
1. Installation
2. Sign-up
3. Account-import
4. workspace creation
5. Failure to open workspace without message -> you already got logs from this stage
6. Close Collaber and reopen
7. Attempt to open the workspace results in crash -> logs below
[log files deleted. As have received them anyway]
Thank you

Please update the Collaber.

Please update the Collaber. We have released v1.1.27.3 which will fix this problem.

Thank you
Rajesh

Just tried a freshly

Just tried a freshly downloaded Collaber. Same behaviour, sorry...

We have not released new

We have not released new setup with the updates. So you have to update your Collaber to the latest version using "updates" only. (We will release the setups soon).

To check which version of Collaber you are running please follow the steps.
1. Click menu "Help- > About Collaber"
2. Click "Features Details"
3. Note down the value in "Version" column.

It should display "1.1.27.3b". If it is anything other than that you need to update it.

Updates can be installed by...
1. Click menu "Help->Software Updates->Find And Install"
2. Select "Search for updates of currently installed features"
3. Click "Finish"

After finish you will see the new updates being prompted to install. Normally you do not have to do this. All this is already automated in Collaber. New updates will be installed when they are released. But in anycase that did not happen, above mentioned steps should solve the problem.

Let us know if you have problem even after installing 1.1.27.3b. Please send a bug report from with in Collaber once again.

Thank you
Rajesh
