Hi All,

As  you know - we are developing a few extra tools to be used in our workspaces which  are specific to our industry (CAD drafting)
These tools include a CAD file Markup Tool, A PDF Markup tool, Time/Billing tool & a Emplyee 'Survalience' tool.
When we wrap this all up into one workspace - we have a collabrative workspace for my biziness.

I would love it if you could add a 'Custom SplashScreen' to run when somene enters my workspace.
Maybe with a 'Powered by Collaber' splashscreen to follow.

So then I would buy a licence for my client. My client enters my workspace & it runs the 'StaffCloud' logo & splashscreen followed by a 'Powered by Collaber' splashscreen.

Now my biziness has a clear identity. (Maybe with a welcome page)
It kind of like a reseller system for Collaber.

This idea works for many users. Person runs an online school. School name pops up. Person has a bookclub with 3 friends. Bookclub name pops up. etc, etc

It's a great way to identify the many workspaces you might have.

Implementation:

Probably a tool tab that is only visable to the admin of the space (owener of the space). Tool allways you to upload a single image of a set size. (Maybe Specify a welcome page - which all users land on first) (Maybe a shortcut icon as well)

Thats it.

Little feature with Big potential.

Thanks,

CM

Very Good Idea,  But it

Very Good Idea,  But it must be set by the owner of workspace once for every workspace. And according to what you have asked there is no relation between the splash screen and the tools that workspace contains.

Is it so?

It is very simple for me to show a splash screen, and I got the idea of why we need to show it. But I want to know who will set it? and how?

I think your assumtions are

I think your assumtions are corrent.

It should only be set by one user...the owner of the space. I think you need the ablity to show or hide tools based on user role. (I can't remember if you implement this). Then there should be a role called 'owner'. This 'owner' can add an 'owner tool' to the space which is only visable to him. It is like system settings for a workspace. Here you upload the splash image...maybe check on/off a setting for 'use welcome page'...that kind of thing. He saves the settings & thats it. So its a 'owner tool' that you set once then update it only rarly if ever.

Does that make sense?
